As oktowallz closes out 2025, it bids farewell to the year with a special exhibition that looks simultaneously to the past and to today’s street culture. Tourist maps published from the 1920s to the present—drawn from the archive of the platform’s founder, Görkem Kızılkayak—set out on an entirely new journey. Once folded and tucked into pockets as tools for exploring the city, these collectible maps are reinterpreted and brought back to life through the hands of nine artists.

Beril Ateş, Bülent Gültek, Cins, Kadir Çıtak, Kaybid, Max on Duty, Meck, MRE, and No More Lies transform these rare maps—each a historical document—through their own aesthetic languages, turning every piece into both an original artwork and a fresh intervention into the city’s living memory. Layered with new meanings, the old maps imagine a new Istanbul, a new Turkey, and a new world.

Taking place on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 6:00–9:00 PM, at oktowallz’s temporary space in İMÇ, Shop No. 5409, this special gathering is more than an exhibition. It is also an invitation to celebrate the new year together with Istanbul’s street art community, to reflect on the year behind us, and to look ahead to the projects yet to come.
